A Planning Application was submitted to the Energy Consents Unit for the development of Ditcher Law Wind Farm in 2023, subsequently, Additional Information has now been submitted and the proposal has been revised in response to consultee comments following the application.
The proposed Ditcher Law Renewable Energy Development will comprise 8 wind turbines, 5 turbines are up to 200m tip height and 3 turbines are up to 180m tip height with a total generation capacity of approximately 52.8MW. In addition, it is proposed to include 30MW of battery storage capacity. The project is located approximately 3.5km north of Oxton and 8km northwest of Lauder, Scottish Borders.
The Applicant is Ditcher Law Limited, which is an associated company of E Power Ltd.
E Power Ltd (EPL) is a renewable energy company focused on developing onshore wind, solar and battery projects in the United Kingdom. Established in Scotland in 2018, with an office in Dunfermline, the Directors of EPL have extensive experience in the development and operation of renewable energy projects in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
If approved, E Power is also committed to providing a community benefit fund equivalent to £5,000 per megawatt of installed capacity per year. Based on an assumed installed generation capacity of 52.8MW, this will result in an annual value of approximately £264,000 per year. With a 30-year lifespan, this will provide approximately £7.92 million in community benefit.
